Bartholomew's Tantalizing Socks

Hi from Germany!
I am so excited. I recieved my copy of the book at the beginning of the week when I also recieved the new handdyed sockyarn from my LYS "Tausendschön" . Because I agreed to knit a soxk for her store I started right away with the first adult pattern in the book "Bartholomew's Tantalizing Socks". I had so much fun knitting it! It's a little bit tricky but I like it a lot and I am looking forward to knitting all the others socks too.
You can find a better picture of my sock at my blog "Creaworld" (german only, sorry).

Sky Practice Socks

Here's a quick'n'dirty shot of my Sky practice sock. Its not in the worsted she calls for, but some heavy worsted I had "left over" from something. It was the only thing I've allowed myself from the book ... so far. I will also make the other practice sock while I am finishing up my forest canopy shawl, Bronson's hat and another pair of socks. Then look out Cat Bordhi! My dad is flying in from NS this evening. I'm hoping I'll be able to convince him to go to Vancouver with me, then he can drive and I can knit. Ah just think uninterupted knitting time on a labour day weekend. Who could ask for anything more?

If you're here, you have probably heard the buzz about Cat Bordhi's book, New Pathways for Sock Knitters: Book One.

Katrina, Donna, and I (along with a lot of other Portland-area knitters) attended a book signing last week and were wowed by Cat's talk and the new sock architectures ("sockitechtures") she's come up with. We even got to see the socks in person . . .

Here's hoping you'll grab yourself a copy of the book and join us in experimenting with these new designs. It's going to be a fabulous adventure and we want lots of company! *grin*

If you'd like to knit along with us, simply leave a comment here (please include your email address), or send an email to amandawoodruff AT gmail DOT com.

Thanks! I can't wait to cast on!
